A former
law clerk for the Presiding Judge of the Civil Division in Union
County, the Honorable William L'E Wertheimer, J.S.C., during the
2001-2002 term, Christopher has significant experience defending
municipalities against claims under the Open Public Records Act
and Prerogative Writs matters challenging government ordinances
and resolutions. He also defends public entities at both the local
and county level against claims under Title 59, 42 U.S.C. §1983,
Conscientious Employees Protection Act and the New Jersey Law Against
Discrimination, as well as breach of contract claims.
Mr. Harriott also defends personal injury, automobile liability
and construction site accident matters for our private clients,
including third-party practice seeking insurance coverage on behalf
of such defendant policyholders.
Prior to joining Florio & Kenny, Christopher specialized in
insurance defense and insurance coverage litigation, primarily representing
insurance companies under CGL, homeowners and professional liability
policies in environmental, construction defect, asbestos, products
liability and toxic tort matters.
Mr.
Harriott also handles matters before the Appellate Division, New
Jersey Supreme Court and Federal District Court, District of New
Jersey and has experience in both complex commercial and employment
litigation, including wrongful termination and enforcement of employee
restrictive covenants.
