Nita
G. Raval, Managing Partner, joined the law firm of Florio & Kenny, L.L.P. in 1997
where she began her legal career. She has practiced in the areas
of personal injury litigation, Title 59 and other defense litigation,
Civil Rights Litigation, Landlord/Tenant law, Employment law and
Worker's Compensation law.
Ms.
Raval is licensed to practice law in New Jersey. She is admitted
to practice in the Supreme Court of the State of New Jersey, the
United States District Court for the State of New Jersey, and the
United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia. She is a member
of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Hudson County Bar
Association. In November 2004, Ms. Raval was appointed by Governor
James E. McGreevy to serve as a Commissioner on the New Jersey State
Division of Civil Rights. She was thereafter elected by the members
of the Commission to serve as Vice Chairwoman to the Commission
during the 2006 term and was again re-elected as Vice Chair for the
2007 term. In 2008, she was re-elected to the position of Vice
Chair for the third consecutive year. Not only was Ms. Raval the
first Indian-American woman to serve as Commissioner on the New
Jersey Division of Civil Rights but she was also the first
Indian-American woman to serve as Vice Chair.
In
January 2006, Ms. Raval was appointed by Acting Governor Richard
Codey to serve as a public member on the Acupuncture Examining Board
for the State of New Jersey. She made history again as she was the
first Indian-American woman to sit as a public member on that State
Board. In 2006, she served on the Hudson County
Bar Association Memorial Committee. In 2007, she was appointed by the
Supreme Court of New Jersey to serve on the District Ethics Committee
for District VI, Hudson County. Ms. Raval is conversational in the
East Indian dialect of Gujarati.

G. Raval received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science
and English from Seton Hall University in 1992. She thereafter obtained
her Certification in Paralegal Studies from Fairleigh Dickinson
University. She received her Jurist Doctor degree from Seton Hall
University, School of Law in June 1996.
